I have always admired the cute little tea cup pin cushions, so I tried one myself, don't think it will win any prizes, but I think it is pretty cute and very handy next to my sewing machine, anyone have any tips on what to put in the cup, as the soft filling kept trying to pop out and it was a bit tricky to keep down.
Hi Jude. This is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI saw one recently where the cup was glued to the saucer making a tray for pins etc.
Well done on yours.
Chris
Yes chris I have one of those but this was a lonely little cup without a saucer, that might be my next attempt - maybe a present for a friend at christmas who likes sewing too :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pincushion teacups, i don't think I could make one, I'd have glue everywhere!!

I love your pin cushion. I have been meaning to make one of these for ages. I hadn't thought about the fluff popping out. I know you are supposed to put crushed walnut shells in a pin cushion. It helps keep the pins sharp. I have no idea where to get them from.
ReplyDeleteThanks Val for the tip on walnut shells, I haven't heard of that but I do notice my pins do blunt over time :)
