A cover for memphis when he visits

We had our darling little grandson visit this weekend and I have made him his very own cot quilt to use when he is here. Couldn't resisit a photo of him too.

Farewell to our dear old Ruby

Today we had to say goodbye to our dear old Ruby. She was so much more than a dog, she really was like our other child, thoroughly spoilt rotten, but then we wouldn't have had it any other way. Sixteen and a half years of pure happiness, it really is hard letting go. I am so glad to have had this beautiful painting done of Ruby by a talented lady who was finishing her degree at TAFE a couple of years ago and was looking for pets to paint. She captured Ruby so well.

two little quilts

I made a couple of little quilts this weekend, all from left over pieces of material, backed with polar fleece, just to brighten up a little babies basket or pram.

Celebrating twenty five years service

I am celebrating twenty five years service in the child care industry along with the Scheme I started with in 1987, this year we are celebrating with many functions and I also got to star in our local newspaper along with two of the little darlings I care for. Family Day Care is a home based child care industry where we are very proud to take part in shaping little ones lives, to offer a safe and secure environment and it is something I am very passionate about and really do love my job.

material/book rack

I had a clean out in the bedroom and ended up with a left over piece and thought I could use it in my sewing room. It now displays some books and pieces of material I will be using in coming projects.

Carth Kidston/tea towel bag

I made this bag out of a piece of material bought from Hong Kong on ebay and the reverse side was a tea towel given as a present. Now both have been put to good use. I just love seeing the end result when my sewing is finished.
