Pot from West Germany

While my sewing machine is at the repair man I feel lost! But I wanted to update my blog and thought I might show this lovely old pot/Vase? It originally came out from my Great Aunts in England and was left to my Mother back in the seventies, along with many other lovely pieces.

On the bottom it reads W. Germany and 408-40, I wonder what this means?

I really like it and think it brightens up a corner in my lounge-room, I seem to like pieces that have a bit of a story with them.

winter camelia

It might be winter and some days wet and miserable, but isn't it nice to step outside and see pretty flowers like this camelia sasanqua, my hubby grew it from seed many years ago, it sits right outside our back door and brings color inside.

Kempton market

On a recent trip to Hobart we stopped at a little town called Kempton and had a look at their local market held in an old church, it is such a pretty little town,(30 minutes from Hobart city) and of course we did get a few bargains! Just wanted to share a few pics with you all.

apron for Chris

I made a reversible BBQ apron for my brother in law who will celebrate his birthday this weekend. He can take it to the shack and enjoy clean clothes while Barbequing. I added a pocket on one side too, What do you think Christine?

stay at home morning tea

My hubby is having a day off and instead of popping out in the pouring rain and having a coffee I decided to do a stay at home one instead. I love the little Denby (made in England) cups, the Furnivals cake stand (also made in England) I love its old brushed enamel stand, and the stamp is inside an old sailing boat, it is so cute.

The soup is on and now to the sewing machine. I love fridays.

Tea Towel swap

Today I received my Tea towel swap from Jo in Wellington N.Z. at http://www.littlehedgehogs.blogspot.com/ and I was so thrilled, I couldn't believe all the lovely little parcels, Jo really shouldn't have! The hand cream is absolutely beautiful, my hands feel better already. When we were in N.Z. last I bought hand cream and it is almost gone, so I am over the moon. I can't wait to try out the chocolate (two lots) - especially the chocolate covered marshmallow fish, it says "as kiwi as" , yum. The tea towel by Flora Waycott is adorable, and the "I love Wellington" and umbrella on it is too cute for words. I didn't know swapping could be such fun. Thanks again Jo, I really do love my swap.

weekend in the snow

We got to experience snow in the Highlands and is was just beautiful. Warm fires and walks along the lake, it was a lovely couple of days. To top it off a fish too, my hubby was happy.
