I bought off E Bay a CD of vintage American Apron patterns, wow I was so excited when it turned up, here is one of them, maybe not brilliant quality as it is a photo off the lap top, now I will print them all out - pop them in a book and give some a go! Can't wait to make my very first all American vintage aprons.

beautiful surprise from Dendra

This morning I was sitting at the table and heard a knock on the door, my very dear friend had bought a beautiful basket of flowers for me, (my sister and friend are both in palliative care with cancer at the moment) and she wanted to cheer me up, it was also the words on the card that got me and of course I did have a little cry.

My 48 year old dolly

Today I was having a clean out in my cupboard and I found my very dear old baby doll. I was given this dolly when I was three by my then brother in law, she has seen better days! On one hand I chewed off one of her fingers when I used to carry her around. Her neck is a bit cracked and has been re-glued, and her eye-brows have fallen out in patches. My sister made the outfit a few years ago from a doona cover I bought from a friend - so re-cycling is the go! I shall pop her back in the cupboard now - she sits in a cradle that my parents bought me when I was maybe eight years old too. Funny how I have kept both these special things for so long, will kids of today do the same?????

I was left a beautiful Dinner set (Old Country Roses, Royal Albert, when my Mum passed away, The tea pot makes a lovely pot of tea, and of course drinking from fine china is always adorable.

I made the apron too - can never have too many aprons!

Lilliums for Karen

Each year these lilliums flower at exactly the time of my dear sister in-laws memorium. What a lovely way to remember her.

chintz collection

2011 is going to be a year for me of collecting chintz. The plate in this picture belonged to my Grandma who died when I was a baby (some 50 years ago) so it makes this little sandwich plate even more special, I did use it some years ago but sadly when I was washing it I hit the tap and broke a piece off it, as you can imagine this upset me, but my hubby rescued it and glued it back together - now it sits on display on my dresser. The little baby dish I bought at a local antique shop. I can't wait to add to my collection.

bib for memphis

My little grandson came for a visit and he had a bib on which I liked, so I decided to trace it and make one similar! it is reversible and I have a motif on the back with a fish, I put velcro for easier getting on and off.
